Last November, I photographed Joel Arredondo and Laura Buchanan at the Dallas Arboretum during the day and in the West End at night. Their wedding is in October of this year. I photographed Joel's sister's senior portraits in 2009.
Chris Rackard and Casey Martin's wedding is in May, but I photographed their engagement portraits last November in downtown Dallas during the day and the West End for a night shoot.
I'll be photographing Linsey and Todd's wedding in May, but we created their engagements portraits this past November at Lakeside Park and the Arts District in downtown Dallas.
I also saw Bonnie Townsend and David Webb later that evening (after Sage and Talita) to photograph their engagement portraits in the West End for a night shoot. I photographed David's senior portraits several years ago.
I'm skipping ahead in the order of my shoots a bit - because today Kaivan Askari marries Marycarmen Ramirez in Frisco! Their engagement session was last month at the Dallas Arboretum. I also created a Viewmaster reel for their wedding tonight!
I photographed Nathan Lambert and Michelle Keffer at the Arboretum in the spring, too! Their wedding will be on July, 11, 2009. I created a Viewmaster reel for their wedding during the engagement shoot,
The Tomkos, starting with Rachael, are a family Erin and I have known for long before we started On Location Portraiture. Rachael was just a little girl when Erin first taught her music lessons in private and at Heritage Christian Academy starting around 14 years ago or so. And now she's getting married! Well, we both say, "Wow!" - and congratulations to her and her fiance, Joe.
I had also previously photographed Rachael's senior portraits, as well as her sister Rebecca's senior portraits and her brother Josh's senior portraits.
Erin Johnson's and Mike Hackney's wedding is less than a month away! I created their engagement portraits last month at the studio, and when I did so, I also photographed their engagement portraits to be seen in 3-D! Here are the 'normal' portraits:
I can't show you the full effect of the 3-D portraits on this blog, but they're basically designed to be seen in a vintage Viewmaster viewer. I take the photos using 35mm slide film, but my camera for these is a twin lens Viewmaster camera made in the 1950's. I get the slide film back from my lab, and cut and paste the images into a Viewmaster reel. It really works, and it's really cool! The first image is a viewer with the reel, the second image is the camera I use, and the third image is the reel I made for Mike and Erin.
Creating 3-D portraits is just for engagement sessions right now, and they have to be scheduled as a daytime studio or location session. I've put the Viewmaster reel as an option on my wedding brochure and price list! The Viewmaster viewer and reel could be kept private for the couple and their friends and family - but I'd suggest bringing it to the wedding reception!
Deborah Morales and Brad McCloskey's wedding is in July of 2009 - but we photographed their engagement portraits in downtown Dallas for a night shoot in October.
In the summer I photographed Ross Bishop's and Rachel Martin's engagement portraits at Firewheel Golf Course in Garland. Their wedding was on October 25th. BTW, if you two see this today or tomorrow, I'm almost done with the weddings photos! I'll call you on Monday.
If you're not Ross and Rachel, you might have done a double take on the names. You'd be the first, I swears.
I've actually known Ross and Rachel for a while, now. I photographed both of their senior portraits as well as Ross's sister's senior portraits and her wedding. The last photo is an image from Ross's senior portrait session five or six years ago.
Ryan Murray and Tifini Baker are getting married in Mexico, but I photographed their engagement portraits at the studio. I had photographed Ryan's sister, Heather, earlier in the year.
It's been quite a week and a half - I've had 17 portrait sessions, a rehearsal dinner, and a wedding in the past ten days. So, I've been off on posting - but I'll be posting at least 10-12 entries in the next three days.
The first is something I'm just starting to do, and I'm very excited about it. It's called 'The Night Shoot', and I'll be doing it for engagement sessions and for high school seniors. We basically spend the 30 minutes before sunset until 30 minutes after sunset, walking around an urban location, and create portraits with a lot of mood using the available lighting from shop windows and street lights.
These are Celina Trevino and Tommy Byrd's engagement portraits, photographed in Deep Ellum. I photographed Celina's sister's wedding last year, and I photographed Celina's senior portraits several years ago.
Michael Kenney and Stephanie Schuurman are getting married in March. Their engagement portrait session was in the Arts district of Dallas, just walkin' around! It was also my first shoot with the extremely cool Nikon D3 - which I borrowed for the shoot from my friend, Jim Welborn.
Emily Thompson and Alex Thorson are sending out 'Save the Date' cards for their wedding. I've designed two different samples (plus a slight modification on one). They are designed as 7x7 photo prints that will accompany their actual cards. Which would you choose?
