Ryan and Tifini
Ryan Murray and Tifini Baker are getting married in Mexico, but I photographed their engagement portraits at the studio. I had photographed Ryan's sister, Heather, earlier in the year.

It's been quite a week and a half - I've had 17 portrait sessions, a rehearsal dinner, and a wedding in the past ten days. So, I've been off on posting - but I'll be posting at least 10-12 entries in the next three days.
The first is something I'm just starting to do, and I'm very excited about it. It's called 'The Night Shoot', and I'll be doing it for engagement sessions and for high school seniors. We basically spend the 30 minutes before sunset until 30 minutes after sunset, walking around an urban location, and create portraits with a lot of mood using the available lighting from shop windows and street lights.
These are Celina Trevino and Tommy Byrd's engagement portraits, photographed in Deep Ellum. I photographed Celina's sister's wedding last year, and I photographed Celina's senior portraits several years ago.
Michael Kenney and Stephanie Schuurman are getting married in March. Their engagement portrait session was in the Arts district of Dallas, just walkin' around! It was also my first shoot with the extremely cool Nikon D3 - which I borrowed for the shoot from my friend, Jim Welborn.
Joe Scott and Amy Sheppard are getting married in Italy, but their engagement portraits were created at the studio. Joe is a good friend of Erin's and mine and is the writer/director for 'Ocean Front Property' - the film Erin was in a few years ago.
It's been a busy weekend - several shoots (one in Texas Stadium) and a couple of holiday parties (one as a photographer and one socially). I'll have a bunch of new posts with work up this next week and a half - last names in order are: Clair, Blake, Scott, Bryan, Beck, Luna, Brown, Palmer, McGrew, and McNamara. I'll also be posting the final version of the Shuey family portrait soon.
Here are Candice Preston and Tommy Yetts' engagement portraits at Mandalay Canal in Las Colinas:
Okay, I'm thankful for and like all my clients, but I can't help that a few clients become my favorites. The Thompson's are one of my favorite clients. I've photographed their full family or family members on separate occasions so many times now that I've lost count (it's at least seven times). This is Emily Thompson and her fiance, Alex Thorson. I photographed their engagement portraits at a stable in Rockwall.
